Tumblr Spielerei – My Visual Amazon Kindle Author Blog

This weekend was sort of a cleaning day for my website. I took a very objective look at it and, although I felt the content was set up the way I wanted, I decided to see how it measured up in Google. Even the nicest site is useless if it can’t be found. As I entered my main keywords (i. e., Amazon Kindle Author). I scored high in most of my target keywords, but not in others.

Then, I thought of indulging in a bit of Spielerei. This is a German word. In this situation, it would mean applying a bit of gimmickry. I opened my Tumblr account and created a new blog.

Tumblr is a unique type of blog. It lets you post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos from your browser, phone, desktop, email or wherever you happen to be. You can customize everything, from colors to your theme’s HTML. It’s really quite easy to set up. It comes with a wide assortment of free templates and within minutes you can have a really nice blog. You can even connect your Google Analytics account to track results.

When I first signed up for an account last month, I thought it was just another one of these social media fads that pops up from time to time, then disappear like a puff of smoke in the wind. But lately, I’ve seen Tumblr pages rank high in Google, so I think I’ll give it a serious try to get my books in front of the public. And because it’s very much a visual-based blog, it will push my imagination to its limits. But hey, I’m up to the challenge.

If you liked reading this post, please take a look at my books and singles. My most recent release is a collection (only $1.99!) titled Christmas Stories from my Heart: Four unforgettable holiday tales from my life . In fact, you can find all of my work listed at my Amazon.com author page here, or at my website here.  Thank you so much for reading my blog.
